My Fiance´

I have spent so much of my fine art career attempting to capture the landscape as I saw it in my mind's eye... never had i envisioned what a person would look like through that same eye until I met her... my future...

Big Sur Waves in COLOR!!!

I know many of you have seen the black and white rendition of this image, but here it is original glorious color form.  I personally think the image is more dramatic and compelling printed black and white on metallic based papers but I do also like the image in color.

On another note... just purchased a computer of my dreams!  Those of you out there that can be a dorky as me... let me give you the specs...

Mac Pro 3 Ghz 8 Core Clovertown
9 - Gigs of ECC Ram... soon to be 16 Gigs
4 - 500gb Seagate 7200.11 drives setup as two striped arrays.
Radeon 1900XT card 512mb
23" Apple Cinema Display

Soon I'll be adding a RAID NAS External Setup with hot swappable drives, either a Lacie or Eizo 24" monitor... and of course a Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound system...

Wow I'm such a dork.  :)

Ohio...

In the last couple of months... I've travelled many thousands of miles... slept in countless hotel rooms and most of all missed the company of the people that matter most in my life... I've been contemplating leaving the world of commercial location photography...

Been busy with the new Frito Lay re-branding campaign. Look for the new Frito Lay ads that will be hitting just about every magazine and billboard in America!

::breathes:: It's good to be home.

I shot the above image during a short trip to Ohio with my girlfriend... what a magical time... this place reminds me of that Luminous Moment. Shot with a Canon G9

Miracle...

mir·a·cle:

1. an effect or extraordinary event in the physical world that surpasses all known human or natural powers and is ascribed to a supernatural cause.
2. such an effect or event manifesting or considered as a work of God.

Life is chock full of them... miracles... it is miraculous... we simply have to open our eyes and hearts to the possibility of the miracles...

Do you know what it is like to realize your entire life... every trial... every lesson... all the tribulations were all there to create the growth required for you to achieve the beginning of your true potential?

Imagine waking up one morning and realize there had been a guiding hand that has led your entire journey through life..

How do you react? How do you respond? Do you sing? Do you dance? Do you get on your knees and scream to the heavens?

To understand that one's life is not in vain... that it is not pointless... to understand one's destiny is a miraculous event...

I think I may be one of the luckiest person's to have ever lived on the face of this earth...

What did I do to deserve such a blessed life? Is your life as blessed as mine? :)

On another note... on a much more fleshly desire...

I shoot with a Hasselblad H2D and a Canon 1Ds Mark II... but as you can imagine... carrying either of these camera's around is rather... lets say... hindering... not just from the weight, but the constant fear of breaking them or having them stolen. It's one thing to use an H2D in a controlled professional environment... it's an entirely different thing to carry around a $40,000 camera to shoot your weekend of debauchery...

My problem lies in the fact that I refuse to shoot with anything that won't produce the quality of results I aspire to create... it almost feels like a waste of time to me...

The only point and shoot camera I've ever felt was of any real quality was the Canon Powershot Pro1. When it came out, it was THE point and shoot for pros! I bought it immediatly! With it's 8 megapixel sensor and "L" series lens and full manual capabilities... it was like having a mini SLR. Imagine quality that rivalled 35mm film... I was happy... even at the $1000 entry price. But I've gotten sick of carrying it around. Although smaller then an SLR, it's still much larger then your average point and shoot camera.

Then I saw this...

Ok... I'm not the type to get goo goo gaga over cameras... as I could really care less anymore... but when I saw this... I realized the possibilities of what I could do with it!

A camera with 12 megapixels... razor sharp lens... excellent noise control... full manual controls... and small enough to fit in a coat pocket... and it shoots RAW... all for under $500.

We're talking about a little camera that shoots images of a quality that rivals medium format film...

I want it soooo badly... but strangely, I can't seem to let myself buy it... something about spending money on camera equipment bothers me...

Oh who am I kidding... already got one...

It shoots AWESOME!

NOTE:

The above was a private post from long ago... dunno decided to post it because I felt my page was pathetically not being updated.... :P So there you have it. lol
